El Profesor Javier de Felipe visita el Instituto Zapata-Briceño de Neurociencia

El Instituto Zapata-Briceño de Neurociencia recibió la visita del neurocientífico Javier de Felipe, quien compartió con los investigadores del Instituto una jornada de intercambio científico. Durante el encuentro se presentaron avances de investigación y se generó un espacio de diálogo académico que permitió fortalecer la colaboración científica y promover nuevas iniciativas de investigación conjunta.

Christmas gathering of the Institute

During the month of December, the Zapata-Briceño Institute of Neuroscience held a Christmas gathering at its headquarters, bringing together researchers, collaborators, and administrative staff. The event took place in a relaxed and convivial atmosphere and served to express gratitude for the work carried out throughout the year, to strengthen the Institute’s human and professional bonds, and to share an end-of-year moment marked by a collective commitment to neuroscience research.

Scientific meeting of the Institute

On December 4, 2025, the Zapata-Briceño Institute of Neuroscience held a scientific follow-up meeting at its headquarters with the Institute’s researchers, with the aim of assessing the current status of ongoing research projects. During the meeting, the different teams presented progress updates, preliminary results, and future perspectives of their research lines, fostering the exchange of scientific approaches and strengthening internal collaboration.

CNS2025-Florence

From July 5 to 9, researchers from the Zapata-Briceño Institute of Neuroscience took part in the 34th Annual Computational Neuroscience Meeting (CNS 2025), held in Florence. The event, organized by the Organization for Computational Neuroscience (OCNS), brought together more than 540 international specialists in theoretical and computational neuroscience. Saeed Taghavi and Pablo Vizcaíno represented the Institute, presenting research on cortical dynamics and neuronal entrainment induced by electrical stimulation.

Summer Course in El Escorial 2025

On July 1, the Zapata-Briceño Institute of Neuroscience organized a high-level scientific symposium within the framework of the Complutense University of Madrid Summer Courses, held in San Lorenzo de El Escorial. Titled “Uncovering the Secrets of Human Intelligence from Neuroscience and Molecular Genetics,” the event brought together leading international researchers in neuroscience, genetics, and intelligence, fostering interdisciplinary debate and scientific exchange on the biological foundations of human intelligence.

ICMNS 2025 – Barcelona

The Zapata-Briceño Institute of Neuroscience took part in ICMNS 2025, held in Barcelona from June 17 to 20. Our researchers, Pablo Vizcaíno and Saeed Taghavi, participated in this prominent international meeting on mathematical and computational neuroscience, which brings together specialists from around the world to promote new theoretical approaches and interdisciplinary collaborations in the study of the brain.
